What's Wrong with AI Art?

We’re now in a world where AI is bleeding into all areas of our lives and there is much to be said for its benefits - it’s taking what we can do as humans and multiplying it exponentially.
It can scan millions of data and analyse in seconds.
It can translate languages, breaking down communication barriers.
And it can generate artwork…
So, what’s the problem with that?
Surely, a time-starved small business owner, with no graphic design experience, would benefit from AI generating a new logo for them?
Surely, a group looking to generate a new advert or flyer would want to seek out a quick and easy solution?
Surely, asking Chat GPT to create a caricature of you is innocent enough?
But spare a thought for the artists out there, who are being undercut, and bypassed in these decisions, whose skills are being overlooked in the quest for an immediate visual result.
Artists are a particular group of individuals, passionate about their craft, dedicated to their skill, sometimes creating works for little to no money simply because they love it. A lot of artists may even have a second, or even third job, to support their business.
They would love nothing more than to be commissioned to create artwork for you, not just because it supports them financially, but it allows them to spread their joy in the world that little bit further. And not only that, but it also shows that you respect them as professionals - that you see their craft and skill as valid, valuable and important. That they are not easily replaceable.
And remember that AI only operates using data and information that has been programmed into it, meaning it would have your data and likeness. An artist, on the other hand, will study your appearance, your character, your personality and bring that to life in an authentic way with no risk to your personal information!
So, the next time you are preparing to ask AI to generate you a visual, take a moment to consider how you can redirect that request to a real artist, with real passion and real skill – we’re ready to offer your real art!
